PLEASURE BRISTLES
by Gary Barwin and Alice Burdick

Humidor

I am born
this way -
upside down
loose bag of fluid
skin teeth laughing
all the way down

I want a smoke
it was a long afterlife
it took “forever” to get here
again. I hoped to be a cigar
this time around, but no

Just a baby
all over again
